Sweet is a category i had admittedly settled all Rieslings into, which was quite happily disproved when i opened this bottle. armed with a recipe that called for a "dry white" i was suggested this by two people i happily trusted (the people at Anderson's, and Ryan himself ^_^) It was very much as described here, and blended itself quite nicely with both my butternut squash risotto and the chicken cacciatore that i used it in for my first dinner party! (a success i might add) I was actually quite sad when the lovely smell from the stove went away.

made from the grapes that are from vines that are over 100 years old and thinned to produce even more flavor. it spends time in the best wood available. i would say the cost is very little for what you get.

i would say the experience is like gettng pushed over, hitting the ground gently, getting picked up by the collar and given a big old wet smoochy kiss.

I think lovers of Zin should get into some Primitivo. It offers a different drinking experience from the same grape that a lot of people are passionate about. You can also find better values I believe. For me, Primitivo brings more of raw meat and wet metal type of nose, with jammy and smoky nuances and little residual sugar. Excellent with pizza!

I´m in the middle of an "argument" with my wine merchant over just where Montsant is, compared with Priorat...and for the life O me I can´t tell much of a diff. overall between the characteristics of the two DOs (except the Priorats are 10€ more!) Just tasted the 2006 Cellers Can Blau Montsant last night. My tasting notes have not been published yet but it was an amazing QPR. I paid $9.99 a bottle and the quality WAY outperformed the price. 40% Mazuelo 40% Syrah and 20% Garnacha. It was amazing.
